Londonban rendezték meg az idei Golden Joystick Awards díjkiosztót, ahol maguk a játékosok adhatták le voksukat az augusztustól júliusig tartó szavazáson. A legtöbb, szám szerint négy díjat az Activison-Infinity Ward kooperációjának alkotása, a Call of Duty 4 söpörte be – köztük az év PC játéka címet is -, de hasonlóan jól teljesített a Grand Theft Auto IV is, melynek PC-s verziója december elején kerül fel a polcokra.
